Butwal Blasters, the participating franchise in inaugural edition of Pokhara Premeir League (PPL), announce the acquisition of age-level Nepal internationals Anil Kharel and Rabindra Jung Shahi as our ‘Local Iconic Players’ for first season of PPL happening in Pokhara from October 26 to November 6.
Anil Kharel impressed everyone with his exceptional left-arm spin bowling in ACC U16 Premier Tournament 2014. He bagged the award of most promising player of the tournament with a total of 13 wickets. He had already shown his potential and talent is there without a doubt, which is all set to get exposure under the wings of quality players like of Sompal Kami and Sagar Pun.
“After ACC U16 Premier League, I haven’t participated in any highly recognized tournament so I’m keen to taking this as an opportunity to show my potential and further push my career in positive direction”,
Anil Kharel said after being informed by the franchise.
Rabindra Jung Shahi is a top order batsman and wicketkeeper. He was a part of Nepal U16 team in 2014’s ACC Premier League. He was the leading run scorer in Khukuri T20 Challengers Cup 2018 with 258 runs in 4 innings. He was part of Dhangadhi Premier League 2 (DPL2) winning franchise Team Chauraha Dhangadhi and part of Inter-provincial Prime Minister Cup, leading province no.6.
“The development of Nepali cricket is our main vision. And I am sure Kharel and Shahi like many other youngsters in the squad can propel us to something positive in PPL. Our priority has been picking up young players keeping Nepal cricket’s future in mind”,
