Rain halted Match between Nepal and Malaysia was reduced to 30 overs per side as host won the toss and invited Nepal side to bat first at Bayuemas oval , Kuala Lumpur. For Nepal side ,there was two changes in playing eleven as lalit Bhandari and Young opener Anil kumar sah was in for Karan kc and Rohit kumar Paudel.
As Gyanendra malla lowered his batting position, duo of Khakurel and Anil came to open the innings for the Nepal side. Last match half centurian, khakurel look promising initially for first few ball but threw his wicket after hitting two boundaries. In come experienced campaigner Gyanendra Malla started to build the innings but failed to handle Sharvin Muniandy’s ball and he was caught by Malaysian captain Ahmad Faiz.
Star player of Nepal, Parash kadka joined young lad Anil at the middle but yet again he threw his wicket in very similar fashion from last match after hitting consecutive boundaries in Muhammad Anwar’s over.
In very Next over Anil sah got trapped infront of the wicket and enforced himself towards pavilion.
Sagar pun who was star in recently concluded Malaysian premier league was out for first ball duck while Nepal was reduced to 60 for 5 in just 12.5 overs.
In came Aarif sheikh and Dipendra singh Airee started to build innings of Nepal and managed to take Nepalese side up to safe side.
Duo of Sheikh and Airee notched the partnership of 101 runs in which Airee contributed 54 runs of 51 balls before he was bowled by Syazrul Idrus.
From other end , Aarif sheikh grasped the innings and took the charge until last over of innings for which Nepal managed to score 188 for 7 in 30 overs. He scored 64 runs not which includes two boundries over the rope while 5 are fours.
For Malaysian side Syazrul Idrus was the best bowler who took 3 wickets giving just 27 runs in 6 overs quota.
Malaysian openers looked solid in run chase initially before sompal kami removed the wicketkeeper batsman Shafiq Sharif. This was the first wicket taken by the Neplese pacer in thier opening spell of the tournament.
Duo of Ahmad Faiz and aggressive looking Anwar Arudin added another 40 runs in scoreboard before veteran left arm orthodox Basanta Regmi removed Malaysian captain Ahmad Faiz.
Sagar pun who rolled his offie took the wicket of Anwar Arudin who was looking solid in the middle. Nepalese leggie Sandeep lamichane took two wickets in his final overs of quota to keep Malaysian side in under pressure while Regmi yet again proved his class as he emerged out as a highest wicket taker for Nepalese side while bowling. Dipendra singh Airee took 1 wicket while Kami bagged two wickets in his quota to restrict the Malaysian side for 169/9 to win the match by 19 runs.
All round show of Mr performer Dipendra Singh won the Man of the match awards.
Though Nepal won the match with convincing Fashion, they definitely looked to improve in their batting performance as yet again top order failed to score against weaker team like Malaysia who are in Division 4.
Tomorrow Nepal will take Singapore in fourth round of tournament at kinrara Academy oval, kuala Lumpur
